Warehouse Help
Alright I'm not sure how to explain this.... I have been playing guitar for a little over 2 years and can play a good amount of DMB songs. But, I have had a huge problem playing warehouse. I can strum and mute all the notes to the song but I can never get it to sound right. Any tips on the timing, or how many times i should be hitting each note. Any tips at all would be appreciated
a member made this audio lesson a long time ago and it really helped me. Good Luck!

Ugh.....I'm going to make the same response I made to this the first time it was posted, just so matts420music doesn't get misled.CWMCALL wrote:a member made this audio lesson a long time ago and it really helped me. Good Luck!

This is good as an instructional clip, but unfortunately, it teaches you the wrong rhythm for the song. Get the video that was referenced. If you need me to, I can upload it.

I realized today after watching the video that was mentioned earlier, if you position your hand the way dave does for the walk down, it makes it a hell of a lot easier to mute the strings. Basically, your fingers are more flush with the fretboard that way. I can post a video of what I'm talking about if someone really needs more explanation.

thanks hydro for that video its helped...i just did not know what u meant by beats 2 and 4 having an accent? i couldnt really here the computer im on has crappy sound. and the last question is do u mute all 6 strings and strumm and then do the walk back up to the A string or is it just go through the walk down and them back up without muteing the full 6 strings?
If you count the song in 4/4 time, he accents beats 2 and 4. Beat 2 is 3rd note of the walk up, and beat 4 is the first down of the down/up down/up mute. The second time through, during the full walk down, there is no accent on beat 4.SPOTLIGHT5584 wrote:thanks hydro for that video its helped...i just did not know what u meant by beats 2 and 4 having an accent? i couldnt really here the computer im on has crappy sound. and the last question is do u mute all 6 strings and strumm and then do the walk back up to the A string or is it just go through the walk down and them back up without muteing the full 6 strings?
Yes, you pretty much mute all 6 strings on the mute.
here is the first part of Warehouse from Listener Supported slowed down to 1/2 speed. This seems to make it easier to hear exactly what Dave is doing.
