coldplay, maybe green eyes, the scientist. Like people have been saying you need to memorize the lyrics and be able to play the song without thinking about it. then you can focus on your singing. Mostly just practice.

Been down at my girlfriend's the past week and no computer, hence late reply, but i've had chance to practice playing along to Stereophonics Performance and Cocktail. I have a tab/lyric book which i've just never tried to sing along to before. A minute longer i'm really not doing too badly at at all. and a couple of others, but like it's been said, you gotta know the songs well to be able to play them and sing...

Half the time i just end up moaning strange noises when i get a little lost concentrating on the strumming too much

But suggestions of Coldplay and Damian Rice are great great help. i've already had a go at the Scientist tonight, not sung to it yet as i'd never played it before and that Bm7 chord is something i never play, so that required my attention not to screw up, but i could follow it easily first time round, so it's a promising start...

Tank ya very much for the sound help :P

pretty much just getting the song down on guitar first...i can sing and play with ease if i know the song on guitar...but if i dont (for instance i just learned the stone...and i cant sing along with it well because i havent gotten down to the point where i dont need to think about it) it takes time..and practice
