I have an apartment in Philadelphia that is one block from the art museum they played at, however I didn't go because I couldn't get off work. Now that I see the set they played, I am not as bummed out. Of all the bands, the only ones I would have wanted to see was Dave and Linking Park, but everyone played such short sets, so I would have stood around for 8 hours to hear roughly 40 minutes of music I cared for. They should have had seperate stages so each performer could have done more of a complete set, even if that meant 6 or 7 songs, that still seems more well rounded than 3 or 4. Just my thoughts though.
i agree and disagree - i live in a philly suburb and i really considered going down, but i knew it would be way too crazy and packed - it would have been nice to see longer sets, but brock is right, thats not what it was about - and they did a great job of really stressing their points, i'm sure everyone that watched or went in person is much more aware of whats going on in africa, and with G8

back to the "whos bob geldof question "
FYI
to those who need it, bob was a british one hit wonder who turned his life to charity......he arranged the first live aid , after the success of the hit single he aranged "feed the world" which ruled the christmas charts .it had every brithish pop star you can name ....the likes of.....sting phil collins, george michel, ,,,,etc all made it a f!!!!!!!ing big hit and so bob got his
name as a charity dude.(and nighthood) the prob is that he has great intentions but he seems to be working slightly against not with the other charitys and he should really try create a more unified africa campain......plus his daughter is called "peaches" silly name ......and having met her out clubbbing in london a few times, i must admit she aint all that cool

Bob Geldof played the main character, "Pink," in Pink Floyd's The Wall, as well.

it makes the fact that her dad is trying to save poverty-stricken Africans irrelevant obviously

Are you saying just anyone could go? Tickets in the U.K. (all 250,000 of them) were distributed via a lottery. You had to text at £1.50 a time to see if you won a ticket. Some people texted a hundred times before they got a ticket. Where do you think the money went from those text sales? It was not just about the music.

Yes, for the one in philadelphia, anyone could go. I know it wasn't supposed to be about the music in regards to my last comment. But there is no reason it couldn't be about African and still had bands play fan favorites. That would be two good things in one. :D
