Very enjoyable, Miguel. Excellent quality recording. The levels on the guitar and your voice are just about perfect. You have a voice all your own. The only critique I have on your vocals is that the 2nd "all this time" in the chorus comes off a little flat to me (2:39-41). The back-and-forth vocals (after that 2nd chorus) were just fine but I think the song would benefit from remaining just a straight shot, so to speak, of you and the guitar all the way through. Just an instinct. The guitar was excellent. You have great rhythm and this song reminded me a little bit of Jason Mraz's style. All in all, another great work, Miguel. Keep it up. Quick question: how do you feel it's a little different from your usual music?

I second Andy's thoughts.
Damn Miguel....I feel like a turd sometimes because every time I hear your stuff I think "God he makes me feel good when I listen to him" and then I post stuff like "great job Miguel..I love your stuff"..........then Brian posts these great critiques and I think "why can't I come up with stuff like that?"
Oh well, I rambling...but really Miguel, I love your stuff...keep the faith cause you have a future in music my friend.

Firstly, thanks to everyone for the kind words. It's always good to hear.
The reason I said that it's something a little different from me is that it's about me and my girlfriend and just about how good things can be when we just do our own thing and be excellent to each other as your sig says....
It's not often that I write lyrics in that sort of mindset so it was a change for me. I suppose musically it's not much change from my norm.
Awesome!
thanks again everyone

Brian, you're right, that second chorus might be a little flat. Thanks for pointing that out, I have no excuse for it.GreedylilPig wrote:Very enjoyable, Miguel. Excellent quality recording. Great as always. I like the verse riff a lot. The chorus/prechorus is heading in the right direction but it's not quite there. I think the melody needs some tweeking.
Recording quality is awesome. That new mic is definately coming through. Sounds nice and crisp but not brittle at all. I want one dammit!
Last comment is on the vocal overdubs...get rid of them. They sound really jumbled. I think a simple two or three part harmony would've worked much better.
