Whats the hardest dmb song/groove on the drums?

We wont know what Carter does...cause we arent Carter.

When I hear something, chances are..Ill think of a tune it sounds similar to or reminds me of. Then Ill think of "who was that drummer?". That will be my modivation. Other then that, me and my band just kinda jam for a while. I just do what I think sounds best and is best fit.

On the Under table and drumming video, carter seems to discribe what you just said Beauford33...he says dave will come up with a melody and carter says "oh that sounds like james taylor, or paul simon, or sting/police and i will do a stewart copeland thing for that part, etc." Carter says that happens alot but not always. And sometimes other bandmembers may have suggestions, for example, Leroi Moore had the idea for the snare hits at the start of ants marching.

But i would say one should do what they feel the song calls for and then afterwards you could figure out what it is.

I am leaning towards drive in drive out grooves, seek up's verses
or how bout pay for what you get (if you try to stick to excately what carter does, its just hard to remeber some parts) or even some parts from pig & spoon, just wondering folks

It's funny, i'm a guitarist, in a DMB cover band (yes we do origninals too) but the only song our drummer really has trouble with is Say Goodbye. My sax player plays flute for that one, and we do the extended drum intro but once we get into the song, the downbeat seems to disappear. I don't know if it just that the drummer has a hard time, or he is trying to complicate things a bit, cuz he rocks on every thing else. Oh well.......

any live song with a drum solo. So Two Step jam or the end of Grey Street. Though, for the very very end of two step...Id somehow try to write out the thirty-second note triplets he is doing. I have it written out but I cant do that kind of thing over the computer. If he sees that and trys to play it up to speed, he will see the difficulty.
