Muting in general
Muting in general
I've been playing for about a year, and I find muting a lot. I've basically started muting in my own way, buy resting a finger over the strings. But when I watch dave play, he plays the songs much differently than I do. Does anyone know how he performs his muting?

it may seem a lot harder to you, but I guess it's just the way dave grew up playing, I mean he's been playing for a while now, and I think his style is just the style he is most comfortable with.

the way i mute is a combination of palm-muting and just not pushing chords down all the way. i guess what i do is push down notes and chords on the beat they need to be played, then release the pressure on the muted stroke and palm mute. muting is really subjective. if you get the sound right, dont worry about how you do it.
