Look at this and please give me an honest opinion...

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

with harmonics you just lay your finger across the fret, not the open space, the actual metal bar, and stum, the 12th harmonic is the easy to get to sound, you don't press down on the strings and make sure your other fingers aren't on them, and stum, the 12th fret harmoic is just one octave higher than the string you're playing it on. i think thats about it.

hmm.. i'm not very good at explaining things  but try just putting your finger at the 12th fret without pressong down and then pluck the string and see if you get a high pitched sound coming out. i'm sure someone will come along and explain it better than me soon.

I would like to emphasize that you "lightly" put your finger over the fret. If you apply too much pressure the harmonic won't sound. Think of it as making your finger hover over the fret rather than pressing on it.

BTW welcome man :) Spoon is a good song for beginners too.

Just a side note- Finally, lets clear this up- WHAT IS THE EASIEST DMB SONG TO LEARN? ONCE AND FOR ALL. THERE MUST BE ONE SONG THAT EVERY ONE AGREES THAT IS EASY TO PLAY? PLEEEEAAAASSSEEE AGREE ON 1. lol

I'd say Proudest Monkey. Others would be Gravedigger, Bartender, So Damn Lucky. Crash Into Me is easy if you're comfortable with that E chord.
