On this website's "dave's gear" section it says he owns 1, 2, and 3

Look on ebay, best bet to get your hands on one. Pricewise, to buy one, your looking at $5000-$6000 range.

so which ones does he have?
He has 1 + 2 of 234 made I THINK, not positive though.
If i remember correctly, he doesn't have either 2 or 3..i don't remember exactly. ask kanter or do a search
I could have sworn I read an article about the DM3MD's and it had said Dave owned the first 3...
I remember reading a post Jared had a while back that said that he didn't have #2. Something about someone finding it online and having it. So he has #1 and 3.

And he has more than 3 914-CEs. If I'm correct he has 2 Venetian cutaways w Cindy Inlay: 1 in standard and 1 in Drop D. 1 Florentine cutaway w Cindy Inlay. And 2 Venetian cutaways w/o Cindy Inlay. So that would make 5. That is what I've seen thus far. That's my two cents ;-)

I wouldn't be surprised that dave doesn't have that many chets, but could have chnaged the finish. I bet he doesn't own that many ovations, but could have traded them up, or such.

I don't trust the amount of guitars it says he has, but I like it that it shows he has (or had) a bunch of different ones. Who knew he has (or had) a Takamine.
Yes, I am in a box

now a days, the only place to really get one is on Ebay unfortunately. They typically end up going for anywhere between 4000-5750 from what i have seen recently. One will pop up every month or two if you lucky. originally i think the list was only 3400 or so.

You know you've really made it as a rock star when you have a separate guitar in drop D, and you don't have to just twist a knob a quarter turn anymore.
