great great cover miguel.
the guitar was spot on. my only problem was the vocals at times. you don't hold some notes as long as needed and in a way it gives it a bit of an abruptness. the beginning was good and no problems there, except a little wavering on the falsetto, but once you hit the louder parts some notes are just a little too short. you held "cannonball" just fine, though. a bit of a break during "step a little closer to me." the 2nd chorus sounds too strained, but it may be attempts at interjecting emotion. when you do it again it's smoothed out a little better, until you hit courage, which sounds strained again and could be smoothed out. the falsettos were a lot better during then, but again, strain on those loud parts, which i know you can smooth out because you have such an awesome voice already.
great job, though. if you smooth out the vocals, it'll be a perfect cover.
9/10 chopsticks.

Awesome song...this is the first time I've heard anything by him, but I imagine you cover it well. Guitar was the money, how many tracks was that? I liked the singing, it sounded a little mellow, which went with the song well IMO. some of the higher notes weren't perfect, but those are damn hard. In short, nice f'ing work man. I'm sure people have asked you this before, but have you taken lessons? how long? how do I find a good vocal teacher?

Its been awhile!
Although, I had never heard the song before & am not acquainted with the artist I really enjoyed it. You still seem to be be one of the top players in this forum. Good Job.
In fact Im gonna go download some music from this guy... Any recommendations?
As for Damien Rice, ive only just got his album..it's pretty decent stuff. I'd add ''I Remember'' to Isaac's list though. It's good stuff.
Thanks man, I appreciate that. I haven't had any lessons but i've read a few books on singing and breathing exercises and so on. Mostly just from singing any chance I get.Buck23 wrote:Awesome song...this is the first time I've heard anything by him, but I imagine you cover it well. I've never heard this song before but it seems like it should be sung mellow like you did Miguel...I noticed that once maybe the falsetto part wasn't as strong as you could do it but man, your voice has really gotten polished. You've always had a great voice, but I remember times when it would slightly slip out of key sometimes. It doesn't do that any more. Your voice has gotten even better now. it's sounds more "professional". As for the guitar, you played the song just like it was your own, kept rhtyhm, etc...I have to say that I'm not too keen on the song itself, but it's not yours anyway!

I really enjoyed listening to this. I'm not familiar with the original tune... but I like the song already. I loved the guitar in this piece. (how many tracks?)The vocals were also really good... I wish I could get my voice in that range. I think the level on the vocal track could be a little higher. Great job.
