Perfect example of making lemonade out of lemons (making something positive out of something negative)......great suggestion!
You're only as strong as the tables you dance on.

that sucks bud..i know your pain to some extent, i cut into the entire calluous and part of the regular flesh of my middle finger on the left hand at work about a month ago...i freaked out and my manager asked if it really hurt, i told him i was just pissed b/c that i couldnt play probably...luckily with a weeks time i could slowly get back into it..do what you can with the finger when you feel up to it, in the mean time....um...learn to play the harmonica...
What did the five fingers say to the face...SLAP

Learn to play with whatever fingers you have. A friend of mine has been playing for about twenty years, but lost his pointer finger at 19 in a farming accident. He's AMAZING.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.

I know the dude from the White Stripes had to teach himself to play with only 3 fingers. He can't extend his left hand enough.

django reinhart is arguably the fastest most accurate guitar player ever and he lost his pinky and ring finger in a fire.
I can't believe that we would lie in our graves,
dreaming of things we might have been.

Good advice Kevin, learning how to play slide guitar is a great idea; on the flip-side though, & not everyone will agree w/ me on this, but about once a year I'll stop playing guitar for about a month or so....I don't why, but for some reason after I take a break from it, when I do pick it up again, I'm better than I was. Not playing for a month might not be the best advice for everybody, but it works for me.
