just try a few brands and see what u like. Most people around here seem to like Daddario or elixir's. the elixir's polyweb are coated strings and cost around $15. I use daddario phosphor bronze and they seem pretty good.

I'm an avid supporter of Elixir Custom Lights...They run about $13, which i know is high, but they are great sounding and have a good life as long as you maintain them.

I'm taking it that you're just starting, but if not oh well ;-) Like Washburn said, just experiment until you find something you like, yes, D'Addario's and Exilirs are highly spoken by mostly everyone on here, but if find something else that tickels your fansy, then go for it. Everyone likes different things, Just find something that fits you, and you'll be on the fast track to success ;-) :-D

There are tons of pages of arguments on the site already. Just search strings and you should find more than you want to know.

The Fender DG24 uses light gauge phosphor bronze strings. Now as to which light strings, get different ones each time, then remember which ones you liked the best. I like D'Addario's. :)
