well i know that the reason for him smoking was because he was having a baby and so the big talk about it was that he would be able to hit the high notes againDMBguitaristJMB wrote:im not sure but i saw him at radio city with timmy and he was sick there but his vocals were pretty good........but im not an expert/ i know nothing about smoking but i would think that him getting off smoking would make his voice better.....

I was there. It was my first DMB concert. Daves voice was quite horrible in the beginning. He messed up on all the high notes in crash and satellite, pretty embarassing.
One could really hear that he was struggling, and from then he tried to play it safe, didnt go for the high notes or screams.
It seemed to get better during the concert, but then on Louisiana Bayou, he had a serious blackout or something. At least five times he totally lost the rythm and sang in the wrong places. Did this happen to him before on this song?
Before the encore, he apologized for being "shaky". Maybe its because of the jetlag, he mentioned that they had just come from the other side of the world.
Other than Daves mess-ups, it was a good show. 'The Maker' was awesome, Crush too.

well i just listned to crush and i think that it was a bad version... now dont jump all over me because i threw an opinion out there.... i think that mabey since it has been a while since the band played that this is happening... not much of a jam or anything and daves voice did sound a little shaky... like someone earlier said, i hope that it is just a one or two time deal...
