Crash strum pattern

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Unread post by two_stepper10 » Sat Dec 20, 2003 6:40 pm

I've been playing crash into me alot lately and have everything figured out except for the strum pattern. I have heard its D DUD D UD and so on, can anyone give me a definitive answer? Thanks.

The easiest way to get the strum pattern for crash is to concentrate on hitting the bass notes when youre supposed to. Dont worry about all that DUDUDDDUU stuff. Hit the bass notes when youre supposed to, and the strums inbetween will come.

True that. It's so hard to understand strum patterns from just DUD, etc...Just play along. On Crash the bass note is the most important, then just fill in the time with strokes...

Alright I'll just take everyone's advice and play along and worry really about the bass notes. Thanks to all for the help. It's much appreciated.

Yea thats really all you gotta do, is just listen to the song then try to play along with it, and you will get it.
