I know that the song is in F#, but what scale(s) is being used?
My friend who is a freakin maniac with music theory said most Middle Eastern type music is either Melodic or Harmonic Minors, but to me an F# Melodic or Harmonic minor doesn't fit. Any help? Thanks
peace

Re: Another Last Stop Question
well, its really not in F#, thats just the key its closest too. i'm assuming you are asking this so that you can solo over it, and im gonna go ahead and tell you that you might as well forget about that idea.PlayLikeDave wrote:I know that the song is in F#, but what scales is being used?

Re: Another Last Stop Question
I wasn't looking to solo over it. I would like to try to compose something with a similar flavor, and I would have to know the type of scale I think. It was extra funktacular whatever Dave was thinkin (or smoking) when he wrote it. I like the type of music for guitar. Thanks Fatjack for the responsefatjack wrote:PlayLikeDave wrote:well, its really not in F#, thats just the key its closest too. i'm assuming you are asking this so that you can solo over it, and im gonna go ahead and tell you that you might as well forget about that idea.

Re: Another Last Stop Question
its a great style no doubt, but a very tough one to master. me telling you all the scales would do you no good, because its just a mixture of a few. if you want to compose something similar, then do what im sure dave did: play until you hear something you like. your friend was right though, melodic and harmonic minor is a good place to startPlayLikeDave wrote:fatjack wrote:I wasn't looking to solo over it.
