It was faaaaaaaaaaantastic.

Dave was talking between almost every song, despite "having a fever." They didn't play a lot of the singles, which I really enjoyed, except for WAYG. I really couldn't have asked for a better set, except for maybe replacing WAYG with Warehouse, but it was all great. I kinda wanted to hear Can't Stop after Some Devil, with the new crispy/upbeat tempo, but no matter.

I never got the feeling that Dave was teasing new DMB tunes. I'm almost positive Sister and Corn Bread are Dave solo songs. He (and the band in Vegas) have made it a point to not play any new songs we haven't heard yet. I don't see why he would here... I think he's doing with Sister and Corn Bread what he did with Gravedigger in '02. Corn Bread was the main song I had stuck in my head after the show. There was a nifty little what I think was a new section with some scatting. Improv jam before SD was just dave noodling something he "thought was pretty."

The covers were great; I love Still Water, and Down by the River was powerful. One SU tune, and it was pretty good. Sister was amazing. I'd only heard recordings before tonight; I loved it. Jimi had a funky heavy intro that I really enjoyed, and WWBoM was nowhere to be found. PNP was great... kinda wanted to hear an acoustic Rapunzel since I think it was teased last night, but you can't win 'em all. For What It's Worth was only two "stops" worth, so it was nice and tight. #41's everyday outro was short as well, didn't overdo it.

Crowd was great 95% of the time. Dave was absolutely hilarious all night. Mullins Center was a great sized venue. UMass is absolutely enormous. Bought a shirt and a poster; love them both. Pics to come tomorrow. I have to pass out.
