dreaming tree

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

dreaming tree

Unread post by ecs787s » Fri Dec 19, 2003 3:43 pm

Does DMB ever play the Dreaming tree live? I've come across a version of it but it sucks because of quality. What I would like is a Dave solo or D+T version. Does anyone know if they've ever played it together?

The band has played it a decent their fall tour, but I don't think it has ever been played Dave solo or Dave and tim. I think i remember hearing Dave say he thought it was too weak of a song solo or something, i might be wrong.

Stefan wrote the song...
"Its not easy being green.. its not easy being me" - Dave 4-4-03
"Everyday should be a good day to die" - "You Never Know"

yeah, it was called Stefan's Seven before they had lyrics to it. Greg Howard even played on it before it had lyrics, he said so in an online interview chat thing.

Also, thag Ben Affleck thing has only been a rumor. They played it in 1998 and 2003. I think because it isn't a real energetic song, and since it goes on for so long, maybe they think it just loses power to the audience. That's just speculation on my part. I also did hear another rumor is that it was some how related to Stefan's first child dieing, but again, just a rumor.

Why would he care if Ben Affleck liked it????? BTW, I have a version somewhere that came with the bonus disc to the Central Park concert. (I preordered). Maybe I can find it somewhere, but there is a good one out there...

The rumor is that Dave's wife (girlfriend/friend at the time of BTCS i believe) is/was friends with Gwyneth Paltrow, who was dating Ben Affleck at the time. The two visited the studio, heard a rough cut of Dreaming Tree, liked it, convinced him to keep it on BTCS.
