Stream Tab

Unread post by Shaft162 » Tue Jan 14, 2003 11:42 pm

Has anyone here tried to learn stream? I know its way out of my league, but i'd like to see it in tab form to know how hard it is, and maybe if it take it piece by piece for LONG time, I could figure it out. But anyway, does anyone know where i can find a stream tab, and if you have learned to play it, how long did it take and how long have you been playing for. thanks
peace
AJ

I can play a couple minutes into it at about 3/4 the speed Reynolds does. After that though, I just got bored with it I guess. The song itself isnt that tricky untill you get into later protions of it, but its more the speed thats killer. Ive only been playing for about a year and a half, but as my grandmother says......"You may have only started playing a year ago, but considering you play it for four hours a day youve probably played 5 years worth by now...." If you want, when I get back to school I could probably scan you a copy of the tab from the L@LC tab book.

there are a couple submitted tabs for stream.......I gotta check em out and see which one sounds best(even though I can't play it). I'll probably have somoene else look at em to approve that song. Peace

i can play all of stream except for the fast part on L@LC, its hard, but im practicing it right now, i submitted a stream tab, and kanter's right, there's not really any way he can verify if its right or not. but i can say that most of the tab i compiled from playing the stream versions all over the web and in the L@LC book, i haven't tabbed out the fast part though, like i said, its hard, and my fingers are trying as hard as they can to move. i just learned how to play it last year, and i have at least 5 different recordings of it, so i know how most versions should sound when they are tabbed, but trust me when i say this kanter, my tab is almost 100% accurate, there may be a few notes here and there that are off, but ill try to correct them ASAP

The issue with it being an "official" tab is that to be "official" it's done by physically watching dave fret the strings. Which is why i assume the bass tabs arent dubbed "official" tabs of dmbtabs.com becuase there really arent many Fonzie videos out there... and why would there be? i do however have a video of tim playing stream... got it from kazaa

go figure.

Answer: There is no official tab for that song, in the sence that every time i've watched or seen Tim Play it, it's different, i can play the entire luther college version, from start to finsish, but, he will never play it like that again, i've learned probably 4 completely different ways to play it, but then again, i believe the tab from http://www.timreynolds.com is pretty good to go with, or you can email tim's right hand man tour manager at TimReynoldsTR3@aol.com and we will be more than happy to help you.

Do you have to do a lot of alternative picking to be able to play this song full speed, Im kinda having trouble though I can play the beginning a little bit but not quite up to speed when it starts getting fast.
