Well I give you a lot of credit for attempting Two Step with only 7 months of playing under your belt. I didn't really try Dave's harder songs until I was at least a year or so into playing. You have the right idea so far, just listen to the rhythm on Live @ Luther College especially and try to play along with that. Doing that will help you figure out at what words the chord changes are. Other than that, just keep practicing it, and you'll be fine.
