Very Beginning of WWYS Jam on UTTAD

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Very Beginning of WWYS Jam on UTTAD

Unread post by jebro » Thu Dec 18, 2003 3:53 pm

I know someone here can help me with this small request. At the very beginning of the jam, Dave plays the first two chords like I have posted below. Then he makes a little 3 chord run of some sort, at least that is what is sounds like to me. Then he goes back into playing it like Kanter has it. Can anyone tell me what those chords would be???

Thanks
Jess

Jam
E:--------
B:-8---8--
G:-7---6--
D:-5---x-- ? ? ?
A:-7---7--
E:-----5--

No, the tab is right....The only three "chords" he plays other than the written ones mayb be muted...That's all I can think of...

I'm pretty sure he's still strummin that second chord during that part (5X768X) or muting it just for a fill.

i thought he asked for what the chords were... in which the first one is an Em9 and the second is A(dom)7

It goes as follows:
After you play those first two chords quickly, play these three, and it will should sound like a progression in tone (the notes each get higher).

E-------------------------------------------------
B--------------------0-------x--x----------------
G---2-------3-------2-------x--x----------------
D---2-------2-------0-------x--x----------------
A---0-------3-------2-------x--x----------------
E---------------------------------------0--3p0--0

Got this from one of the Cherry Lane Guitar Books. There you go.

I don't think that's what he meant mitch, because that's in the tab. I believe he means right as dave strums the 2nd chord there are 3 distinct strums.. he plays the same chord, just a udu strum really fast..

Ok guys DMBFan is on the right track. He knows that part Im talking about there are 3 distinct strums, but I cant get it to sound right by playing the same chord. I was thinking it was just one strum of 3 chords in a progression, but maybe I just cant play it right!
