Hey everyone. This is my first shot at posting to what could possibly spark some discussion and sharing of knowledge regarding the guitar. SO if it doesnt go over so well i apologize.
But I thought it would be cool to share the most recent thing youve learned regarding guitar. For example, I recently found out from mattinbeloit what the term "bear claw" means. It has to do with rippling of the longitudinal fibers, which divides the surface of the wood into shimmering patterns.
Some other quick examples might be as simple as learning there are many different kinds of C chords to sharing a new guitar model or possible bracing pattern that is going to be made on the new martins of 2012 ahah???
You can share anything from theory, maintenance, definitions, guitar models (dont limit your self to these) whatever youve gained knowledge of recently that you did not know before and wouldnt mind sharing!

I think this might be a good idea!
As a first contribution, I've made a lot of investigations about high humidity in guitars (cause that's probably the most common condition during the Mediterranean winter). Slightly high humidity (60-70%) is not a great threat to the guitar, and one needs not to worry much about it.
Anyway, I still use a room dehumidifier in when it goes close to 70%. It not only helps the guitar, but the overall room environment.
