Does anyone knows why dave uses an Auditorium shape guitar(taylor 914C) as his main stage guitar while he's a strummer?,and he doesnt finger pick that often...almost never, except on 2 or 3 songs as far as i know!

I'm with you. It would make more sense to use a dread like his Martin. I wish he'd go back to using a dread.

The only reason that I can think of is that back when Dave first got into Taylors they didn't make a dred style body. Now that they do I don't think that Dave will change. He picked Taylor because plugged in it cuts through the mix with a full band WAY better than a Martin.

Could be that maybe Dave thinks the Auditorium styled body is more comfortable while he stands up. I notice that anytime I've seen him with a dread, he's sitting down. And most anytime standing is with his auditorium.

if you look back to the early years, he's always had a sleak auditorium as opposed to a bulky/softer sounding dread. with the exception of a few times (dave and friends/dave and tim) he's always had an auditorium of some sort. it has to do with cutting through the bands sound, which is much heavier than dave and friends.

I don't care what anyone says, the chet had his signature sound. He never should have ditched that.
