Lazy Saturday - Original songs on Youtube...

Unread post by afurth » Mon Mar 26, 2007 10:03 am

I had nothing to do all afternoon... and i wanted to mess with my new mixer. so I decided to record a bunch of videos (my roomates are doing this campus movie fest thing so they have a camcorder) with the sound coming through the mixer live. this is most of my new material for my band.

let me know what you think.

Revolution (newest tune)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mqksBGOEkM

Lyons

Untitled

Three Step Drop
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFKnw6QpzQA

Wisemen
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBp8ySfu86Y

Notes:
Wisemen and Lyons grew out of one another - they sound very similar. I think I'm going to keep one with the band (lyons) and play the other one solo/with my jazz project in Chicago.

Apparently I look like an idiot when I play guitar.

Some of the vids aren't perfectly linked up - sorry. I told you I was lazy haha.

My band makes these tunes sound 10000% better.

Any feedback, as always, is much appreciated.

Watched Revolution: sounds pretty cool! You sing pretty well IMO and guitar sounds great!

I'm very impressed...

BTW, what guitar is that?

its an alvarez. its really a gorgeous thing. i got it used for $400 - a $1200 guitar.

but my baby has a crack from the bridge all the way to the bottom of the guitar. that's why it was so cheap :(. its about time for me to get that Taylor with the expression series i've been thinking about :).

also, thanks a lot guys. i just figured i'd post the stuff because my band's been working on it and, like i said, i was really bored.

 Like everyone else said, within in first five seconds I liked it because of your voice. Most people that post turn me off in that first 5 seconds. Original Sound lyrically and instrumentally

On your website there is a recording of revolution, IMO the elec @ the beginning is too forceful, I like the fills throughout the song. I'd really like to hear the cover of #41 you do!

Oh man, thanks a lot...

ya - that revolution recording is layered for a full band - it sounds way less overpowering with the bass and drum tracks. i'll post that when i get it totally mixed.

Really really good. I listened to the first tune. I like your chromatic octave thing. I really enjoy your voice.

I'd really like to hear your jazz group.
