i used to play this song alot with my roommate, it started as a joke but it really is a good song
I prefer the sound of it palm muted during the verse, makes the chorus stand out more. Your guitar sounds a little sloppy to be honest. Not your strongest effort.

sloppy an in rhythm is slightly off at times and you don't change volume at all. Kind of runs all the parts of the song together.
Plus, where's the intro? thats the most challenging part

gah i hate that intro! so plain and shallow, especially with one guitar...Easy E wrote:sloppy an in rhythm is slightly off at times and you don't change volume at all. Kind of runs all the parts of the song together.

but i'll say this, you are puting yourself out there, trying out alot of songs. I usually don't post anything until i have it perfected(or atleast what I think is perfect) and keep myself from getting criticized too much.
Just keep putting yourself out there, you are close. Some of your songs you sound like a real performer, others, like this one, it seems like you are just getting through the song.

thanks a lot eric... to be honest i usually get like obsessed with a song for a week or so and then never play the thing again. im starting to go back through my old songbook and realize how much i love some of these songs still (and now i can actually sing them... kind of)Easy E wrote:but i'll say this, you are puting yourself out there, trying out alot of songs. Good job.. you kept time well.
I too think this is a lovely song...
One sugestion...I'd like to hear you take up the high part like the original.. I think i loses something without it... I know, easier said than done.. if you can't get that high, try tuning down a step or two and see if that works...

god i wish i could hit that... im nowhere near it and im way too lazy to tune down. im still trying to hit everlong's chorus, which is a B, the chorus here is the Eb above that B... i may never get there.
and pat, that was pretty much exposed when the first person quoted me...
