Taylor expression

Unread post by sbhanot » Mon Dec 15, 2003 8:47 pm

Hey all, does anyone know which taylor guitars have the new expression system? (that being those little knobs instead of a big ass box thing) - Is it all models beyond a certain year, or do some models have it while others don't - also, are they any good? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch....

atm the 5xx+ series have it when it comes with electronics, next year all will be equipped with them. ive heard they sound great but theyre still new so they can mess up.

Yeah I've heard they can be difficult to set up, and you have to get it just perfect. But when you do, they sound great. I've heard a few that were dialed in, and they sounded EXCELLENT. Then Ive heard a few that obviously werent dialed that didnt sound so hot.

I think that most of the limited editions have it as well, including the 300 series and 400 series.

I have a 314 limited koa and it has ES.

From people i know who ownz a Taylor with the ES , its not hard at all to setup , you plug it in and you're ready to go , and the ones with all those errors are from pre June 2003 , the problems seems to have been fixed now , of course there might be a few that still skips but they are working to fix it , i would definetly say that the ES is the most beautiful pickup :)

it's not hard at all to set up. taylor even gives you instructions on where to start the dials and which ones to adjust first. on mine, basically i just plug it in and play, and it sounds amazing. as far as acoustic guitars go, it's the best pickup system out there.

As a Taylor fanatic and owner, I have got to say that I really don't prefer either/or when it comes to the Expression System or the previous Fishman systems. I can get my sounds out of either one, seeing as I have a guitar with each on it (314ce w/Fishman Prefix and 614ce w/ES). I love them both though, and they do an equally good job of expressing my sound, which is what they're meant to do. Man, can Bob Taylor design a guitar or what?

I AM SOOOO JEALOUS! I am saving for one of them. One of the prettiest and nicest sounding guitars out there! How much did you get yours for?

I hope 2004 doesn't see the ES on everything. I already have a recording guitar and I look forward to saving money by buying no electric guitars.

ES will be on every guitar with electronics.

All their electric guitars next year will all be fitted with the es system, but they still make non electric acoustics.
