i have the version that he posted in this thread if anyone wants it. it's just him and his guitar mainly. no lyrics, no drums...but there are some effects going on...nothing much though.

anyone want it?

... It's alright. It's definitely Christian rock inspired, which (with few exceptions, like mid-career DC Talk and All Star United) tends toward high-school pop-cover quality. I like the verses, which sound very much like Damon Gough singing (Badly Drawn Boy, check him out, you'll love him if you don't already).

I would say it tends toward cliches as far as structuring goes and vocal patterns, which results in it being a bit of a bland recipe. Not bad in any way, and under that same note, therefore not exciting at all.

Let me put it this way: I can definitely understand why other people would like it, but if you've heard any of my own stuff or references toward bands that have influenced my taste (Bjork, Glassjaw, Badly Drawn Boy, Aphex Twin, Paul Oakenfold, Maria Callas, Arcade Fire, Bernard Herrman and on and on and on) my own criticisms shouldn't be taken too seriously.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.
