how does Dave strum on So Much to Say?

Unread post by geo3217 » Mon Feb 19, 2007 10:06 pm

Is Dave constantly moving his picking hand (pendulum strumming) on So Much to Say, or does he occasionally keep it steady?

He doesn't stop strumming at all, he always keeps his hand going, look at this video at about 6 seconds and at about 17 seconds

You have to really get into the strumming is his songs. To keep the beat dave continues to strum even when hes muting strings. So basically just strum the beat in his pattern.

^for the most part yes, even if he is not hitting the strings, his hand is still moving.

Thats how he keeps the beat and all that. I think he might have a bit of trouble with timing and thats a simple way to always stay at the right pace through out the whole song. A lot of guitarists do it. I do. Simple and easy way to play. Good luck with So Much to Say you'll get it eventually!

No doubt he does. I'm sure he doesn't make a big deal out of making sure he slide from 4.
