Baritone guitar?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Unread post by SRVDMB » Sat Mar 10, 2007 5:48 pm

Hey everybody...I really want to do a cover of Some Devil and write some stuff on a bari...but i don't have the money to buy a new one....Is there a way i can make my standard tune electric baritone??....I know they have a longer neck...But could i just do a raised B thing like on an acoustic?

Cheers,
Jack

Not in a safe way that I know of. Some Devil, the song itself, is easy to play in standard. The one bass note is just up a little higher, but it sounds fine. Don't go waste money on a bari just cause Dave plays a handful on songs on it.

I've lowered my acoustic down to the baritone tuning before. Not my brightest idea, and I can't say if it did any damage to the guitar. It did nothing to MY guitar, but I could just be a big lucky on that front.

Overall, I would just suggest sticking to standard at the moment, since I don't even know if what I did was safe.

No.. i recommend using a suncity guitar and tune it upto raised B.. write some songs and if you like em then get a baritone guitar... if you have no luck..don't waste your money for a few songs. Trust me tuning up a good guitar fucks it up.. good thing lil burtha is a party guitar now.. lol

Do you need carpentry skills to screw a neck into an electric guitar???? Not really........The dimensions have to be right but yeah you can do it....I'm not sure where your getting at.
