Love the tele twang, did you just get it?
The singing is good, this is a tough song to sing, especially capoed at 3, but i noticed its up a bit. Your voice has a dreamy quality here, very soothing. Still you keep your dynamics...im not falling asleep listening to it. Good Job
My only critique is the way you say cienega. It sounds strange. I think its pronounced (See-En-Egg-Ah) or at least thats how Ryan sings it.
I'd love to hear you flush this out with a full arrangement with piano, electric and acoustic. I dunno, something like this:

Good listen, thanks

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

Thanks for the listen, guys. I've had the Telecaster since high school, I've just always recorded with one of my acoustics for some reason. I might add an acoustic layer down the road.
I did move the capo up a fret to the 4th fret; felt more natural for me.
Looking forward to the new album.

Other than the pronunciation that (the other) Ryan mentioned, I think it's great. I love this song, and I love what you did with it.
I have nothing really to critique about the song, but the fact that way it's so left-heavy gets to me. The only thing I hear on the right, using both my speakers and my cans, is a little reverb. It would definitely sound more balanced out with the guitar panned maybe slightly left and the vocals slightly right, or, if you plan to add more tracks, the vocals panned straight down the middle and the acoustic (I'm hearing jangly-type strummed) panned mostly right and the electric mostly left like it is now.
Well done though Brian. And by the way, I've been waiting to hear you cover this song for a long time. No disappointment here.
