Song I wrote for a buddies film
The song is called sirens and i wrote it for a buddy of mine who is a filmmaker.
This is the trailer...the song kicks in about a minute and a half in so fast forward if you want.

Let me know what you think, I have another version thats much more stripped down with just piano and violin.
Lyrics:
Stale fuzz on tv
My only company
Bottle in my hand
Won’t make me understand
How I let you down
Sat there and watched you drown
Sirens and lights and broken glass
How slowly time moves when you want it to pass
Lights dance across my eyes
How long b’fore this pain dies
Lookin’ for someone to blame
Turn my head in shame
Can’t face them all
Confess it was all my fault
Sirens and lights and broken glass
How slowly time moves when you want it to pass
Lowered you to rest
In a crowd so finely dressed
In black adorning frowns
We put you in the ground
Swore friends till the end
I pray hearts can mend
Sirens and lights and broken glass
How slowly time moves when you want it to pass
There’s tears on the window, will this storm last
Please forgive me
Thanks,
Ryan

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

Nice
Hey I dug this.. not much to critique... Are you going to keep the Thunder in the song? I think you should, especially if you keep the heavy reverb on it. Nice work.
Everything sounded great, and fit the trailer well, I take it this is some sort of amateur film?

Thanks guys,
the thunder is actually added by my friend, it wasnt in the original song i sent him but i like it, its dramatic.
This was a movie we wrote in high school together about drunk driving after someone we knew killed a young father of two while driving wasted at 5am.
He remade it in film school and is trying to market it to high schools for their health curriculum. It turned out pretty well, he got a lot of interest from the national safety council who turned out for the premier but eventually passed because the film was too long (45mins).
anyway, thanks for the comments!

this is by far my favorite thing ive heard from you, ive never heard your voice like this before. the lyrics are very good too. the only thing i would say, is the lead guitar track is pretty weak, especially when it jumps in there when the lyrics break. i think this would work better without it.
beautiful work though

Thanks andy, amazing what a condenser mic can do. I agree about the lead guitar, i suck donkey balls at lead, i think im going to take it out completely and just use piano.

I agree with everyone else about the lead. I like the idea of the tone for the lead, but the way it is currently composed needs to be scrapped, it does more to take away from the song, then to add to it.
Overall, the song is really really good, your voice is outstanding, and I really enjoyed the song.
