The Terrible Stone
Willin, you're the man, your instructional video on the stone answers all the questions that i had in one go. I think that it is probably the most useful instructional video for the stone i have seen (because you make comments as well), so thanks a lot for that, now i have most of the things i need to learn the song. I mean there is a slight different sound in the intro if you look at this version of the stone:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suK1v3R_ ... tice. :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suK1v3R_cPs But you made that sound in the video as well (with or without being aware, doesn't matter), so I should be able to figure it out during practice. Thanks again. That was a great contribution. DMBfollower, thank you for the welcome, i totally agree with you about the story tellers, not only the music is divine, the stories he tells are pretty damn funny. To the rest of you guys, if you have any other tips, or anything else to add to the way the stone is played, you are obviously more than welcome to post. If someone would like to explain to me how left hand muting is done, it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot, i'm off to practice. :D

the slight difference that you hear is Dave not playing the slight pause in the main riff. Instead he plays an extra note in *that* version. The way I am playing it in the video is the way that the album version is played.Ruslan wrote: I mean there is a slight different sound in the intro if you look at this version of the stone:

i think live it helps to play that extra note to help keep time because you don't have to pause. i think i usually just mute that "note" when i play... i can't remember off the top of my head how i play it, but i don't think my right hand stops, but i still get that pause effect by muting the note where the pause would be.Willin wrote:the slight difference that you hear is Dave not playing the slight pause in the main riff.
