Stevei is one of the best there ever was, but come on. Go see a live timmy solo show, and you will see what he is, without a glimpse of dmb ever.

Timmy is the greatest guitarist of all time, hands down. I don't care about what anyone says, I have a SRV dvd, and I still like timmy more.

SRV, agian, fucking awesome guitarist, but timmy, there is no one better.
Idiot.

<=== keeps from getting really pissed from elliot. . . .

also, I wish I didn't find him through dmb. But, when I got astral projection and other stuff by time, I didn't hear Live @ Luther, and I barely heard his stuff with dmb, I just was talking with a guy about this guitarist that played with dmb, and I checked him out, and I fell in love.

I guess I am alone, but from all I have heard and seen from both artists (including my mom who saw him with me, and has seen SRV, Clapton, Chet Atkins, , Tim Reynolds, George Harrison, and many others), but I just think Tim Reynolds is the greatest.
you can think that but you're incredibly wrong.

Do you think it is a coincidence that we are currently studying regression phenomenons, whereby seemingly grown up people regress back to childish type behavior?

I agree, I was acting kind of childish with my bowing response. I retract that one. Sorry for that. But I still say enough is enough.

They are both awesome guitarists....different styles. If the question was asked to both of them (if Steve was alive of course), I'm sure they would each pick the other.

yeah agreed. Tim is unique and orriginal, but i can think of at least 5 other guitarists that are equally as good, if not better in their own right.

how about don ross, paco de lucia, al di miola, SRV, the list goes on and on. Just because he plays with Dave doesnt make him the best. And if it did, then trey anastasio, and anyone else who works with dave does.

It's very easy to find an affinity towards tim because of his beautiful work with dave -- we all (im sure) really like most of the work tim does with dave -- it's very cool... but im sure don ross, paco de lucia, and the rest of the gang could come up with equally beautiful stuff...

Every fantastic guitarist has songs that can compair to stream... most of those fantastic guitartists dont blow their setup with nothing but effects like tim does... i consider tim a jazz styled guitarist more then anything else because of his orriginality with digital effects... but guys like don ross use their gutiars ONLY.. and it sounds like he's playing with a DL4... go figure?

just some thoughts. ims ure it's been raised a million times thus far, but i usually dont get into these kinds of debates.

Yes.

And it doesn't always take a constant shredding of the guitar to make a great guitarist
