to amplify, or not to amplify?

Unread post by gravesRR7 » Tue Jan 21, 2003 4:47 pm

I don't know too much about the technical aspect of guitar playing really. but i wanted to know if there was a relatively inexpensive way to hook up some sort of mic to my guitar and have it sent to an amp. i'd rather not have a cord hanging around to step over. and i noticed that dave doesn't use one, i just want to know if there is some kind of mic that you can attatch to the guitar that is a "remote", and maybe even interchangable between guitars.

there are a lot of other ones out there.. this is just an example of one..
i find that they're useless unless you're a performer and like to move around stage alot...

Can you get a wireless "mic" for a guitar (like daves) that will just have the reciever plug into a regular amp? Everything i've seen has a rack-mount reciever (for good reason) but do they make just regular ones, kinda like wireless headphones, but....well you konw what i mean.

before i start, i DO sense your sarcasm. but it's obvious that mic is plugged in. and leroi's soprano mic, you CAN see the cable. But we all know the reason Dave does wireless, so he can dance!!
