hey man this dvd idea sounds awesome but just like everyone else has said i think it would be a good idea to put up one or two samples on the site, which it looks like you are doing. playing dave songs is the highlight of my day, i learn a new one everyday. anyway i was wondering if you knew how to get the special he did on MTV for the some devil cd. i wanna watch him play the songs. thanks a lot man. have a good day and good luck.

I must say that I am anxiously awaiting this DVD. I / we understand that the reason for not having this DVD in our hot little hands, is that the DMB legal team appears to work at a rather slooowww pace. This is evident by there lack of communication and willingness to give this project the green light.

We have all seen the other instructional material for sale on E-bay that are continually reposted week after week. This would indicate that the DMB legal team is taking the same sort of action towards these videos. None. So why not do the same thing? Strip out the tab portion of the DVD so it just includes the videos and put it up for sale. (we all know where to go and find the tabs anyway) Is there a specific reason why this could not be done?
My intention here is not to bash on the DMB legal team. It’s to get a copy of this DVD in my hands. Any thoughts on this?

There has been alot of talk about musicians wanting to get tabs off the net as well , some musicians just don't like it , thats one thing , and everyone who just sells videos on E-bay is in general breaking the law i would say , Jkanter is doing the only right thing , getting a fully legal video out on the market , no one can come back and sue him , but if he just put it out now , he would risk it , so just relax and sit back , if the DMB legal team gives JKanter a green light , then im sure the DVD will be out faster than you can say your own name

It's not just the tabs that are the problem, it's the audio/visual representation of David J. Matthews's copyrighted music. The people selling the DVDs on eBay WILL get sued (there's no doubt in my mind about that) as soon as the legal team gets down to it. From the looks of it, it seems that the team and Coran have been open to the project, so it's just a matter of time.

about that certain "DVD" floating around ebay (it's actually a cd-rom burnt onto a plain fuji disk), dont bother wasting your money. the quality isn't that great, the guy leaves several parts of songs left out, and it doesn't show the strumming hand. crush is even messed up, the video gets all jerky and the sound messes up. trust me, whatever kanter has up his sleeve has gotta be worth the wait, cause theres nothing out there to compare to.

btw...the guy who made this dvd claims that dmbtabs.com and antsmarching.org, so theres no point in wasting money on something you get here for free. in fact, he's probably lurking among us. :shock:

As people have stated above...I refuse to do anything that will jepordize the integrity of the website or anything that might bring legal actions against me. Honestly, I love this site but I WILL NOT get sued over it. That CD on eBay is 100% illegal. Now, yes, your right....chances are that kid will never get sued because he's running a 1-man operation through eBay. But when I have a project as massive as this, it draws a lot more attention. Also, the main reason I haven't done it yet is becuase that it costs a SHITLOAD of money(upwards of $5,000) and I do not have that kind of money. My dad is funding the project and he refuses to give me a cent until I get legal approval. My dad is an accountant so you can imagine how he is about earning money when it's not legal.

NOW....I SAID IT BEFORE....AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN NOW....THINGS ARE GOING TO GET REALLY INTERESTING SOON

Sweetness, When will this DVD be out and how can I get one since I live in the middle of nowhere? I can't wait, There alot of Dave songs I could probably play but can't because I can't figure out the strumming pattern and such. :lol:

My intention was not piss anybody off. I do understand and appreciate that jkanter is doing this the right way. (which is pretty rare in today’s world) I’m just anxious to get this DVD and a little annoyed that I can’t have it so I was venting.

When the DVD does become available, are you going to market them through guitar retailers as well as this site? Since we all live in different parts of the country/world, we could contact the local guitar shops and inform them of this new DVD. With all of the members of dmbtabs we can cover a lot of ground and get the word out there. It has the potential to be huge. Hell, I have about 40+ guitar shops within a 1 hour drive of my house.
