so far im gonna put forth some ideas/ call some preemptive dibs on the following songs:

No Scrubs - TLC (2000 Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal)
I Try - Macy Gray (2001 Best Female Pop Vocal Performance)
Fallin - Alicia Keys (2002 Song of the year)
U remind me - Usher (2002 Best Male R&B Vocal Performance)
Ms. Jackson - OutKast (2002 Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group)
Lose Yourself - Eminem (2004 Best Male Rap Solo Performance)
My Boo - Alicia Keys and Usher (2005 Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals)
Feel Good Inc. - Gorrillaz (2006 Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals)

id like to put Hey Ya off limits cause its already been transformed, and i sincerely hope no one would consider doing gravedigger.

Yeah, I think mangold and were thinking that it would be fun to take sellout songs and make them sound less sell out, change the music entirely, or re-write lyrics... I don't know, it was just an idea to have a contest be more than favorite Dave songs haha. Instead of relpying that an idea is dumb though, offer more ideas... lets make this happen.

I offered 3 ideas, want more? Ok lets see.

-Best cover of a cover.

For example, Widespread Panic covers Neil Young's Last Dance quite often, but its different than Neil plays it. Dave style Watchtower would also apply.

-Best duet.

Team up with someone else for a colab, any song is fair game.

-Best cover originally sung by someone of the opposite sex.

Guys would cover a chick and vica versa

-Decades cover contest

i like best duet idea. just because i would like to hear them. but it would be harder for people to submit entries then because it would require more effort.
