I'm watching Dreamgirl from Storytellers from '05 and just, wow. I've always liked the music to that song, but that's probably the best performance of that song I've heard, just the way the band brings it way down in the end, makes it real mellow. It could so easily segue into another song. Now, if only the lyrics weren't Dreamgirl

I know. I just love the instrumentation in the song so much that I can disregard to crappy lyrics and enjoy the song.AlpineValley wrote:it's a pretty good performance, but then again the lyrics.....taparoo wrote:I'm watching Dreamgirl from Storytellers from '05 and just, wow. Cool almanac facts 'bout the new Warehouse disc.
DMBAlmanac.com wrote:1. Hello Again
8.24.04 / Cricket Pavilion / Phoenix, AZ
- One of the new songs that Summer, it contains the intro and a Carter solo in the middle. A formal AUD recording from this show has not surfaced. This is it's 4th official live release.
2. Steady As We Go
7.30.05 / Randall's Island / New York, NY
- The newest song and most recent concert on the disc, this is Steady's 2nd live release, and this concert's 2nd released song (Jimi Thing was on last year's Warehouse 5).
3. Lie In Our Graves
4.8.95 / McAllister Field House / Charleston, SC
- One of two picks on this release from this show. It clocks in at a crisp 8:09. It's almost hard to believe that this hasn't been released on a previous Warehouse disc. This is the 8th live release for this song
4. Pay For What You Get
9.27.94 / UVA Amphitheater / Charlottesville, VA
- This is taken from the Charlottesville release party for Under the Table and Dreaming. For a released song with a fairly steady history of play, this song had been neglected on live releases until recently. This is its second live release, both coming in the last 7 months.
5. Pig
7.30.2003 / Sleep Train Amphitheater / Marysville, CA
- Again the management refered to this as Don't Burn the Pig in the e-mail, but we see the titles represent different songs (or at the very least versions). This is the 4th live release for Pig and the second track released from this show (The Dreaming Tree was released on the Central Park Concert Companion disc).
***** Warehouse 8 Volume 3 Bonus Tracks *****
6. Little Thing
10.24.1996 / Frank Erwin Center / Austin, TX
- This is the first half of Dave solo encore. It's the first Dave solo to get a full release on a Warehouse disc (there was a partial Blue Water on WH5v4 /WH8v1). It's the 3rd live release for the song, and now one of only three songs that have been released in full band, Dave solo and Dave & Tim versions (Typical Situation & Cry Freedom).
7. #36
4.8.95 / McAllister Field House / Charleston, SC
- This is the fourth time a compilation disc has contained multiple tracks from the same show (Central Park Companion, WH v2 & Some Devil Companion disc). This version segues directly into Ants at the show, but will mostly likely be quickly faded. This is the third full release for #36, and the last one on Listener Supported was released in November 1999. The 7+ year hiatus between live releases makes it the second longest gap, after The Song That Jane Likes' run from a version of the Recently EP in 1994 to Live at the Gorge in 2003.
8. Granny
8.31.93 / Trax Night Club / Charlottesville, VA
- This is the oldest release of any compilation disc, and the oldest since the Remember Two Things songs recorded earlier that month. It should be interesting to see what a lot more money, technology and time can do with a recording vs. the R2T release. This is its 6th live release.
All in all 7 out of 8 songs are from different years. So far there have 39 tracks released on Warehouse Fan Club discs, 39 different songs represented.
