your writing has really progressed, i love both of these. the second one more-so. these are beautifully produced, i just wanna say make sure you keep your eyes on the prize, dont over-produce. neither of these are there yet, but the writing is somewhat lost in the first one imo.dmbguitar718 wrote:I haven't touched my site in a while.mangold wrote:ill say... Both of those are covers, of Josh Ritter and Sufjan Stevens respectively. They are two of my favorite songs lyrically, and I'll be lucky to ever get halfway close to either of them.mangold wrote:your writing has really progressed, i love both of these. the second one more-so. these are beautifully produced, i just wanna say make sure you keep your eyes on the prize, dont over-produce. neither of these are there yet, but the writing is somewhat lost in the first one imo.dmbguitar718 wrote:I haven't touched my site in a while.mangold wrote:ill say... I should have noted they were covers, sorry. I just arranged them differently. I didn't change too much on the first one (Josh Ritter), but I did write the little instrumental part.
The second one (Sufjan Stevens) is originally banjo and trumpets. I took it upon myself to compose cello parts and play a little piano. It's considerably different from the original.
Thanks for the comments, though. I appreciate that you listened to them. I'll post originals in the future.
