A little video from our show this weekend...

Unread post by captainburrito » Wed Jan 03, 2007 12:55 pm

Hey everybody,
My band had a small show at a coffee shop this weekend and a friend of mine recorded a couple of videos with his digital camera. This one is a song called "city guys." I hope you enjoy it!

I like the guitar and voice of the girl a lot. The djambe man does not seem very relaxed

Pretty cool man!

1. agreed w/ portugal, relax that djembe
2. that chorus needs some harmony. the girl's got an amazingly strong voice, a little soft harmony in the background would sound freaking amazing
3. the pointing and talking to friends just made her come off as nervous and cheesy. i'm sure she was just having fun, but i wouldn't keep that
4. great great song. i would have liked to hear a bit more melodic piece w/ the violin, but overall i loved loved the song

great great job. sounded amazing. those are just some things that i would have liked to have heard...i'd probably buy an album w/ 4 or 5 songs on it of that caliber.

Ha Ha...yeah  ...I didn't realize it was so similar until it got pointed out to me by the other guy in our band...by that point it was too late to change it. I am an awful person...

Oh and i probably shouldn't really call this a "gig," since it was just at a coffee shop that the girl in the band works at...and we didn't get paid...and pretty much only ou friends showed up...so that explains our less than professional behavior.

I'll try to get a few more videos up in a little while...

Danielle wrote the words to the song...and I did the music for it. She is really good at song writing in my opinion. She has her own myspace page with her solo stuff if you want to check it out:

And I am sorry to disappoint everyone who thought I was actually Mario Lopez...I am starting my Latino hormone therapy and getting a perm though...i guess that's a start, right?

Alright...i got another video up.

This one was at an open mic night at a different coffee shop...and this was the first time we had played this song, which we had written in about an hour the night before. It is a little shakey...so if you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them...Thanks!

Alrighty...I fought with YouTube enough to get another video up. This one is called "The Hands That You Gave Me"...and it is a pretty rusty version. This show was the first time we had all played together since I think early November...and our singer was battling with a sore thoat...and with those encouraging words, enjoy!
