I just need some help with the intro. Looking at the tab it seems so simple, but i just can't get it. is it a timing thing? ive tried playing along with the song. anyway any help is appreciated

You know, i think some of you newbs have been spending too much time on this site. Soo much time that you think you can poke fun at any random question. This happens everyday now. I remember when this was a helpful place where fellow dmb fans could chill the FUCK out and converse and learn the amazing style that is dave matthews. I've posted rants like this before and its getting really old. The last three or four questions i've read from first time posters have resulted in ignortant answers by dumbshit members who have no idea what being a member of this site means.
If someone has a question, give them the link and welcome them. Say hi even. Making fun of someone who gathered the courage to join and ask a question is no way to handle it. You think they'll come back in the future w/ a dmb question? Just think about is all i'm saying. We run this site by participating in it, not using it to make others feel inferior. Gaaa....

Could it be that the song is in 7? Im guessing you didnt think about the time signature so its tripping you up a but. Listen to the bass. That is what this whole song is built on so if you ever get lost, just look for the bass line and it will be keeping time for you.

I suggest just sitting down and counting out the time first and getting use to it. tap out the time for a while and just get use to the phrasing. After that, and watching a video/listening to the song and singing the part, it will all become a little more familiar

thanks for the help. I didn't realize until now that the bass was such an important part of the song. I have a video to watch and play along with now so i'll just keep pluging away
