A Little Holiday Recording...

Unread post by captainburrito » Sun Dec 10, 2006 12:16 pm

Hey Everybody! I was feeling in the holiday spirit yesterday, and decided to give my favorite christmas song a try. The recording is a little bit rough in my opinion, but hey, that isn't what Christmas is all about, is it? Happy Holidays!

Hey thanks for listening! I like my Christmas songs a little bit faster and less boring, like BNL's version of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen." Good stuff. I pretty much used the chords that I found here:

http://www.guitaretab.com/c/christmas/12192.html

I just used open chords until I towards the end where I threw some barre chords in. Nothing to fancy. Oh, and since I am too lazy to actually play them fancy chords, I just played an open G instead of G7.

Dude, my FAVORITE Christmas song, and I don't have many, 'cause I HATE Christmas music. I love it, I love how it's got a beat to it, and I've always been a fan of the sound of your voice. Rock on dude. Fantastic work.

Oh, and a created a myspace page with this song and another christmas song on it. Very festive. Check it out and leave me some love if you want to.

I like this Dream Theater's version too (although voice is probably too high...)

I just noticed your location. The summer before I started grad school I did some work for a software company that designs software for doctors offices. One of our clients was a cardiologist office in lubbock, so I had to spend a week out there. I'm not going to lie...it wasn't the most exciting city I've evern been to.

As for the song, I thought it was really good. The guitar was great and original, but I especially like the voice.

Yeah, it is a struggle here in Lubbock. Sometimes i just paint stuff so I can watch it dry. It isn't too bad for med school though, with the complete lack of distractions there is almost nothing to do but study. Thanks a lot for the comments dude!

Really enjoyed this. Very original voice and I love how you arranged the strumming pattern.

A few flat vocals points, but this song is very hard to sing and I really admire the way you approached this and pulled it off.

one of the few christmas songs i like :) i downloaded this a long time ago and forgot to listen

cool guitar part, really made it sound cool. your vocals are flat on the high notes. really try to sit back and belt those notes.

not bad man, i enjoyed it. your nailed the "night" high note :) sounded great.
