Need some help...
Ok I'm playing a dmb song for my guitar class. I have no intention of singing b/c I can't. Any suggestions of a dmb song play instrumentally? Thanks-

I would say that any song would do just fine , depends on what you can play as well ....

I I don't know if doinmg a dmb song without lyrics would work. The One Sweet Word intro is good, but the song, the verses are so enpty without lyrics. What would you say just gets repatative. Lie In Our GRaves, again, repatative, and yes, the jam is pretty empty if you don't have a backup band, and when I do it I sing the What Will Become of Me lyrics, but you can't do that then. Drive In Drive Out would be very empty, expecially with the bridge and jam parts. Bartender is too simple to keep anyone interested. BOWA, that's a possible one, since it has many parts and you don't repeat them as much like lie in our graves, What Would You Say, and Bartender.
I would do something short, like the intor to OSW, #34 with doing it a few times, then the chorus just a few times, and end it. Another one would be a very short stone would work very well - intro verse chorus verse chorus without repeating the verse and intro and chorus that much. One thing you could o that would sound nice is the jams on BTCS, maybe even just string them all together, that would be a great idea and thing to do.
Anyways, for dmb songs, they have a looping pattern that with just gitar, it gets really tedious and boring, with lyrics or the band, they are jewels, each one of them.
Wait, good I dea, try Dreams Of Our Fathers, of course cut it a little short, but the fast pace of the picking of the verse will keep people interested. Seriously, try that, i think it might be your best bet for without lyrics.

thanks for the insight... I like your idea of Dreams of Our Fathers... thing is I've played that in front of the class already and I've done stone as well. I'm thinking abour playing save me (I'll try to sing it)...or I was thinking of blending a few dave matthews songs together.
thanks for your help though-
if you know some dmb blends that would work that would help a bunch.. thanks again-

That is a great song, but have you heard the version with lyrics? I like that one a whole lot too...I think that the studio version might be my fave thoDJR07 wrote:hey how bout one that actually doesn't have lyrics? like #34, that'd be cool
