not bad overall. the guitar sounds good, no real complaints.i thought you did a pretty good job doing it acoustically. but the vocals in the original are very unique, and i think would have been very tough to approach if you mimicked them, which i initially thought you would attempt to do, thanks for not doing that.
however, as far as your vocals go they arent bad, but at the same time they dont do much for me. I think a lot of that is due to the repetition that exists lyrically in the song to begin with, i think to make the song more appealing i think you need to find a way to use your voice more like an instrument, give it some unique aspect.
edit- kind of an off topic question, but have you ever considered doing any smashing pumpkins covers?

Really nice cover man - i like the guitar, and i actually disagree with the others here, i think the song is pretty well suited for an acoustic guitar, because it makes the GREAT lyrics more apparent.
Nice one man, keep 'em coming.
EDIT: And the Mr. Brightside is very nice as well - is that en echo'ed guitar i hear, or did you have a friend with you on the recording? great work man.

thanks for the responses guys:
Kahn, i feel like this could be a great song acoustic, i have this vision in my head that i cant perform, apparently. I get this feeling like this would be great slow-building end with umph damien ricey song. thanks for the input.
i have not considered doing any smashing pumpkins covers, to be honest i dont listen to them, the only song i know by them is the "despite all my rage, i'm still just a rat in a cage" one. any suggestions? id be happy to do one.
that isnt an "echo'ed" guitar, thats just me playing on 2 seperate tracks.
thanks again all

it's interesting...
one thing that i am trying to master lately is good song dymanics, whether in my own (not that i really have any yet hehe) or my covers... it's being comforable going from very low volumes, intensity to loud. the original zombie goes from delicate to loud and back again.. it really takes you on a ride. on your cover, the guitar is super intense right off the bat, and so is your voice, so it doesn't resonate as well- you get tired of it. play and sing softly at parts! singing softly and at low volumes is difficult at first (for me) because you're not really putting force behind it but you still want to sing from the gut... but just try
take a verse to a whisper for gods sake... you'll really get our attention.
that said, i'm not dissing your cover.. it's a great start and a great idea to cover that song!
