i have taken a train, that is a little expensive. i think something like $300. you have to go to brussells and catch a train from there. so actually closer to $365.SimsUK wrote:So I know nothing about travel in Europe. How hard/expensive is it to get around? Like if I flew into Amsterdam, is it practical at all that I could get to London? I realize there's like a lot of water between them, but are there ferrys or something?
you can often catch cheap flights to and from all major western european cities, but it be very hit or miss. sometimes you'll get lucky and get a $20 flight, sometimes you get shafted and have to pay $200. just dont use a major airline and use easy jet, ryanair, etc...
i think there are ferries you can catch, but those arent cheap either.
http://www.ryanair.com has incredibly cheap flights.SimsUK wrote:So I know nothing about travel in Europe. How hard/expensive is it to get around? my friend hitched from amsterdam to london, only 8 hours.
he met a group of brits whp drove to amsterdam and they drove the car back to london, going under the tunnel (it feels weird going under the sea on a train, worth doing.)
not hard to do, plus you can get flights from easy jet and ryan air for NOTHING, i once flew to florence from london for £24 inc air tac
