yep. That's what's so cool about Dave's playing. He chooses the notes he wants to hear in each chord to best capture the feeling of the song. sometimes he plays full open chords, other times just a two note octave chord. like you said he very rarely plays full barre chords.DustyDave wrote:Yeah its rare you see Dave do full Barre chords , the B and e string aren't really necessary in my opinion either , i like the dark tone in only doing the EADG

I always avoided them too, until I wanted to play some Jack Johnson things. I needed to learn them to play his stuff.
