Second Guitar?

Unread post by dmb2191 » Sun Dec 03, 2006 10:55 pm

I started playing guitar a little over a year ago when I got the Fender DG-8S value pack for my birthday. I'm hooked for life on guitar and was thinking about asking for a new one for christmas. Just wondering whether or not I should wait and get better before I get another guitar or if I should get one? The price range I would be looking at would be about $500-700.

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": As long as there's, you know, sex and drugs, I can do without the rock and roll.

Oh go for it, you won't believe how much better you sound when you get your hands on a quality instrument. For your price range look at Alvarez, Takamine, and Possibly used larrivees. All great guitars in that range.
Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

Tak makes great stuff, worth every penny, imo. I've got an EF341SC that I use as my primary guitar, and I swear by it.

Definetely go for a new one if you want it. Don't worry about not being good enough: a better guitar will make you a better guitarist as it's easier to play, and the sound and playability will make you want to play a lot more.
