I can't play the guitar anymore

I was kinda playing Fool To Think when suddenly I got an intense sharp pain in my freakin' pinky in around the knuckle closest to the tip. Everytime I put pressure on it, I get an unnatural pain from there. So I think the best thing to do is not play for awhile and let it heal or pass or whatever it does to get back to normal. Hopefully it'll get better before the contest.

yeah, it happened yesterday, so I thought I could sleep it off last night, but the pain came back. It should pass though.

yeah I played a bit today with 3 fingers - just like the old days where I didn't use my pinky much. I use as much as my others now.

thanks, yeah it's better now so I'm good to go. I just took a bit of abreak from playing for awhile, it didn't take that long to feel better.

ya know what it is?
i had the same deal happen to me and it turned out to be a lil arthritis.. if you play your pinkey double jointed and bend just the last tip of it like i do you'll get crazy pain for a while... i broke my finger playing basketball (my pinky) and had it check out after the cast came off because i thought i rebroke it by playing guitar.. but it was the arthritis.. nothin to worry about.. just give it time to heal

yeah it was a weird sharp pain in the middle of playing. and it hurt like hell every time I'd try to play. it lasted about a week too. prolly is arthritis. oh well. did you pinky get jammed on the ball by a pass or something? that happened to me a few times playing bball, you can get some nasty finger sprains, and the pinky is weaker so I can see how could break. hope you don't have any problems with it
