When one has an EQ (and volume control knob) on the mixer, guitar, and the speaker itself.... which ones do you adjust and which ones do you leave transparent? and how do you leave them "transparent"- by turning them all the way up?
ALSO- what kind of EQ to you guys add to your vocals? i don't even know where to begin because no matter how i adjust it it sounds "cool" to me, but i'm not sure where's a good place to start to make it sound GOOD. also- is it "cheating" to use EQ to make your voice sound better?

I would try to leave all your eq..ing to one thing. In your case, i would say only use the eq on the mixer as it is more powerful. Keep everything else relatively flat, NOT turned all the way up, but right in the middle.
As far as vocals go it is not necessarily cheating to use eq, but i would say that it should be used sparingly to take away bad frequencies and NOT adding some. You can try to play around with the mids (around 300) to gain warmth to your vocal track, however, you are better off getting a good mic and a good tube preamp. They do wonders for warmth.

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?
