Oh Come All Ye Faithful
Hey guys -- not sure if something of this nature has been posted before, but that's alright.
My brother has asked me to perform a couple songs at a Christmas concert/church function next month with an expected crowd of about a thousand people.
I'm kind of nervous about it, but glad to do it. Anyway, my favorite Christmas song is "Oh Come All Ye Faithful," so I learned it tonight and thought I'd record it and get some feedback. Any comments/critiques are greatly appreciated.

To get your voice out of your throat, try humming so you can feel the vibrations and your lips. Then relax your face, and try to allow the vibration to spread through the face and head.
Eventually it'll get to the point, with enough relaxation, you can feel it through your entire torso, but that's a start.
Other than that, doesn't sound bad at all, very pleasant to listen to, and you have a good ear.

Stay with me, safe and ignorant.

You sound like you're at least 50 on this one
have you heard Trace Bundy's version of What Child is This? I love that song, and his version... it's just an instrumental, but maybe you could learn it and play it for this... It doesn't sound very hard. I guess you could sing with it too if you wanted.

It sounds good, your voice gets progressively better, notably at the first "come and behold him." I don't know if the first part is hard for you to sing or maybe your voice just wasnt warmed up enough.
2:30 is a fairly sour note but it sounds more like not knowing where to go instead of lack of ability. that will come with practice.
I love the the twang in your voice, i think that makes it very unique, don't ever lose it.

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

I actually noticed the exact same thing. Seemed like you belted that "Come and Behold him" really well and it just got better from there. You've got a phenominal voice...definately very country.RunsWithBuffalo wrote:It sounds good, your voice gets progressively better, notably at the first "come and behold him."
