What's a good Acoustic-Electric Martin? Or am I better off getting a genuine acoustic and then putting a pick-up in it?

Like lakerhoc said, it depends on your price range. The DCX1E is a really good guitar. If you're looking in the 16 series the DC-16RGTE is a really good A/E. That guitar will probably run you about $1200-1400, or something like that. I personally wouldn't buy a cutaway Martin, because I think Martins are at their best when they're the full drednaught.
My guitars:
Taylor 714
Taylor 614ce
Martin Sigma DR-41
Epiphone Chet Atkins SST (Ebony)
Danelectro 56-U2 reissue
Fender American Deluxe Strat
Fender Aerodyne Telecaster
BC Rich Eagle Custom
