anyone have trouble recording with Windows XP Media Center?

I'm REALLY trying to get everything set up so I can record again (the next piano medley is just begging to be recorded). I have a new interface, new software, new laptop. I'm having issues though, and when I did some research I found the following about my OS: http://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/ts/ ... word=30163
"Needless to say, these features, while useful for live media purposes, tend to significantly interfere with the vast majority of audio applications."

Does anyone else have XP Media Center? If so do you have problems recording with it as well?

i have media center and I use adobe audition, and I've never had any trouble. However, I *usually* record on a 4 track and then import it into audition. But I didnt see Audition on that list anyways, so I dunno.

Thats really freaking retarded you know. I use Audacity for recording, its basic but I intend on using something better when I have my gear after Christmas. My dad bought a HP desktop with Media Center and Audacity records fine, but its just a software thing. I hope there are no hitches recording through the POD XT Live that I am getting when plugged into my computer, however my laptop has XP on it, soon to be Vista though hopefully.

Yes, it is annoying. If I hadn't found this website with the warning on it I would have gone crazy trying to troubleshoot. My keyboard and interface are brand new and work perfectly with my old computer running XP Home. The software is brand new, so it can't be that. That leaves the actual computer, which is new too. Just bought this laptop and now I have to exchange it for one that doesn't have XP Media Center. Blech...
