Danelectro

Unread post by scadmb41 » Sat Nov 11, 2006 10:32 pm

I was wondering if anyone has bought a Danelectro U-2 or U-3 reissue. I was looking at buying one and was wondering what others thought of them. I was wondering what the average price is for one now.
Thanks Scott

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": "I once saw this in a movie, it was about a bus that had to keep it's "speed" above 50, and if it's "speed" dropped, it would explode...I think it was called "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down"!

I bought a U-2 reissue at a pawn shop. I love it; it's my baby. But if I was buying a new electric I'd save the money and go with something really good, say a gibson SG or les paul, maybe an american strat.

got that switched there bud. their pedals are economy bullshit, but their guitars have found a vintage niche in the electric world, especially the baris.

I have a Danelectro 56-Pro. It's very nice.
It sounds different than a Strat or LP.

Uhh Dano's guitars are a helluva lot better than their pedals. If you stomp on those pedals hard enough they will get crunched into pieces, thats how cheap they are. Their guitars sound amazing, I plan on getting one of their baritone electrics since they are considerably cheaper on eBay than a Jerry Jones baritone which essentially the same guitar.

Dano's have a great tubular sound to them and are one of the most unique guitar brands ever. They have great resonance but the only problem is they hum like a bastard.
